You're Invited to a "Free" Black History Month Festival on February 7, 2015
Posted: Jan 16 2015
African Village Market will be celebrating Black History Month on Saturday, February 7, 2015, as we bring goods from our online store to the festival at the Betty T. Ferguson Park located at 18605 Northwest 27th Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL. 33056. Join us for this festival of music, food, crafts, fun activities, and much more!
Here's a photo taken last year at the park, of myself, the Honorable District 1 Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan, and Deborah Banks-Lane, as we worked together to uplift the community.
We just want to acknowledge Commissioner Jordan’s wonderful work in the community. She has served as an Assistant County Manager in Miami-Dade County where she oversaw the county agencies that promote social and economic independence, as well as those that address Miami-Dade County’s complex social issues. She was also the first Executive Director of the Greater Miami Service Corps (GMSC), an organization that took at-risk youth and enhanced their professional skills in order to increase their ability to find employment.
