Many are the people in Africa who carve wood to sell in the marketplace, but few are true artists. Patrick Yaw Amoah is one of those young men who can turn a piece of wood into a pleasing artwork for your home or office.
Nestled amongst the small business stalls of Kumasi's wood markets, Patrick works, carving flat wall designs, statuary, drums and Ashanti stools. Each piece, individually handmade, varies in color, shape and expression, reflecting both mood and culture.
We carry a number of pieces, from the universal "Shsh" of a mother comforting her crying baby, to the Giraffe with the Mona Lisa smile prompting you to smile back.
